This conviction gives certainty to our mission, and this mission represents MN's contribution to meeting this challenge. We work by exploring all scientific fields and transferring and adopting the latest scientific advances at the service of the authorities, bodies and companies who manage our natural heritage or have an impact on it but are committed to protecting and conserving it. We are consultants in conserving biodiversity on the basis of knowledge, independence and commitment to our mission.
Established on a private basis, MN Consultors' roots lie in the old paradigms and principles of Conservation Biology, but we work to expand its conceptual and methodological framework by incorporating knowledge from scientific fields other than strictly biological ones and making use of the latest technological advances. Thus, while we operate in the field of biological sciences (making use of disciplines like ecology, genetics, biogeography, population dynamics or evolutionary biology), at the same time we explore sciences other than biology and applied technologies of all kinds (geography, engineering, information technology, geomatics, etc.). In this way we promote the import of knowledge and the exploitation of new applications in the field of the planning and management of natural resources in general and biodiversity in particular.
Our company's speciality is putting into practice this new methodological paradigm to foster imaginative flexibility and adaptation and allow for alternative approaches to be considered to resolve highly complex environmental and regional issues related to conserving biological diversity.
MN therefore serves as a "bridge company" between science and society, between theory and reality, by pursuing the transfer and use of scientific knowledge for the benefit of the region. At the same time it works to further the development of an emerging discipline, the product of a new synthesis of technological and scientific knowledge used to preserve nature and, by extension, society: Conservation Sciences.
