The Spanish Government approves the General Regulation of the National Coastal Act

The Council of Ministers , at the proposal of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, today agreed to Royal Decree approving the General Regulations of the National Coastal Act is approved, the appropriate instrument to develop and implement the Law 22/1988 of Coasts and the Law 2/2013 of Protection and sustainable use of coastal and amending Law 22/1988 . The Regulation incorporates the provisions of the 2013 Act regarding the effects of climate change on the coast and introduces important innovations in processing delineation of coastal boundaries. In addition, the new regulation provides higher level of environmental protection of natural areas.
